I’ve always had a passion for animals; it’s this passion that led me to go to school to study Biology, proudly graduating from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology-Zoology. Continuing to follow my passion, I decided to become a veterinary technician.
Being a veterinary technician is such a fulfilling job because I know that every single day that I go to work, I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a cat or dog or an owner. Whether that be through helping owners learn about general pet health and preventative care so that their pets can live the long, healthy lives we all hope for, getting puppy kisses & playing with curious kittens (showing them the vet isn’t all that bad!), or even being there during difficult times like the loss of a pet, if nothing but to hand out tissues.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend as well as spoiling my 2 furry children—my cat, Iko, and chinchilla, Sugaree. Aside from animals/science/nature, my life would not be complete without music. Going to see live music is one of my favorite things to do.
